New Delhi: The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an enterprise of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science & Technology, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) to promote quality research and innovation in all the universities in Andhra Pradesh. The MOU has been signed by Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NRDC, H Purushotham and Dr B Sudheer Prem Kumar Council Secretary. Under this MOU, NRDC conducts IPR training programmes for researchers, faculty, file patents, facilitate commercialisation of the university patents to industry, provide all the support required to set up IPR cells, innovation and incubation centres in university campuses to promote student and faculty startups like networking, handholding, mentoring and connecting them to the national start-up ecosystem including venture capitalists and government funding agencies. This would give a big boost to create research and innovation ecosystem in the university, which is the need of the hour as per 'New Education Policy 2020' said Dr H Purushotham.

To strengthen further the initiatives of the AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), NRDC entered in-to an MOU with APSSDC. The MOU was signed by Dr H Purushotham and Dr Arja Srikanth MD&CEO of APSSDC virtually in presence of APSSDC Chairman Challa Madhusudhan Reddy. Dr H Purushotham said that the partnership between NRDC and APSSDC would promote the implementation of 'Skill India' program and strengthens APSSDC efforts in implementing various components of 'Skill Development' by leveraging the NRDC's, national and international experience in skill development, vast resources, networks and innovative technologies available with it in promoting particularly rural entrepreneurship.

Dr Purushotham further said AP is a leading state in the country in promoting skills in the youth and establishing many skill schools, colleges including establishing a skill university in line with the government's 'Skill India Mission.'

During the MOU signing ceremony, Dr Purushotham has highlighted that NRDC has partnered with much leading organization in AP State like Andhra Medical Technology Zone (AMTZ), AP Innovation Society (APIS), AP Food Processing Society (APFPS) and many leading universities and institutions like IIPE etc.and contributing immensely for the socio-economic development of the state.

NRDC promotes intellectual property (IPs), innovation, incubation, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, skill development and start-ups across the country. It has a repository of more than 3,000 innovative proof of concept tested technologies in all most all areas of industry sectors suitable for implementation by to entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs and large companies.
