New Delhi: State-run Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) has now started door-to-door delivery of diesel in the North-East and is the first oil PSU to do so in the region. In an official statement, NRL said, "Keeping with its customer-first approach, NRL has now ventured into the domain of Door-to-Door-Delivery of Diesel, the first PSU Oil company to do so in North East India." In a launch ceremony held on March 31 at Guwahati, NRL MD SK Barua launched NRL's fleet of Mobile Dispensing Vehicles ( MDVs), branded 'Photonz.' Along with the launch, customer registration for MDVs was also carried out and registration certificates were handed over by GM (Marketing) at NRL Subrata Das.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Barua said that customer satisfaction was of outmost importance for NRL and launching of MDVs was a step towards enhancing that experience. He said that the introduction of the MDVs would help NRL provide assurance of quality and quantity to its customers.
The MDVs are fitted with a 6-Kilo Litre capacity tankage with auto Tank Gauging Sensors for real-time inventory monitoring. Further, to ensure real-time tracking and control of the MDVs, they are retrofitted with controllers with GPS and geo fencing lock that also support over the air updates for speedy changes of operational requirements.
In the first phase, NRL will be introducing two such Mobile Dispensing Vehicles which will cater to customer segments like tea gardens, mobile tower operating companies, agri sectors etc. Subsequently, NRL plans to introduce more such MDVs, said the statement.
State-run Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) have already introduced doorstep delivery of diesel in several districts across the country and plan to expand it further. They also plan to start door-to-door delivery of petrol and compressed natural gas.
