2nd unit of NTPC’s Darlipali super thermal power project completes trial operation

• NTPC Group's total installed capacity has touched 66,875 MW
• Maharatna power PSU increased capacity with addition of 2nd Unit of 800 MW capacity at NTPC Darlipali (2×800 MW) in Odisha

New Delhi: The state-run Maharatna Power PSU, NTPC Limited has announced the capacity addition on Friday. The total installed capacity of India's largest integrated energy company has touched 66,875 MW after the 2nd Unit of 800 MW capacity (2×800 MW) at NTPC Darlipali in Odisha has successfully completed its trial operation.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday, the NTPC said, "We wish to inform that based on achievement of approved norms and due approvals, 2nd Unit of 800 MW capacity of Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project, (2×800 MW) has successfully completed the trial operation and consequently included in the installed capacity of NTPC."

With this completion, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has become 66,875 MW.  Currently, NTPC Group has 71 Power stations including 29 Renewable projects. Also, the company has set a target to install 60 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy (RE) capacity by 2032.
