PESB recommends Sandeep Govil for BSNL’s Director (Consumer Mobility) post

New Delhi: Sandeep Govil is set to be the next Director (Consumer Mobility) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a PSU under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection (PESB) panel on Monday. Govil is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officer of the 1986-batch. He is currently posted as Chief General Manager (Rajasthan) in the same organisation.

Govil has been recommended for the post of Director (Consumer Mobility) from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Monday. Out of 10 candidates, seven candidates were from BSNL and one each from MTNL Limited, RITES Limited and ITS services.

As Director (Consumer Mobility) of BSNL, Govil will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for planning and developing of mobile network. He will operate and maintain BSNL mobile services at par with telecom industries standards. He will also be responsible for drawing of business plan for sustainable growth of consumer mobility business and excellence in sales & marketing and customer services of mobile business.
