New Delhi: Ram Naresh Singh is the new Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointments on Monday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Singh has been appointed as Chairman of DVC with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post till July 31, i.e. the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Executive Director in Power Grid, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. Currently, NTPC Limited's CMD Gurdeep Singh is holding the additional charge as Chairman of DVC.
Singh is an Engineering Graduate (B Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BIT Sindri. Prior to joining Power Grid in August 1991, he was serving as Senior Engineer in NTPC Limited.
Further, ACC has also approved the appointment of M Raghu Ram, as Member (Technical) of DVC. He is currently serving as General Manager (O&M) at NTPC Limited's Korba Super Thermal Power Station. He has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post till May 31, 2024, i.e. the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is an Indian governmental organisation that operates in the Damodar River area of West Bengal and Jharkhand. The corporation operates both thermal power stations and hydel power stations under the Ministry of Power, Govt of India. DVC is headquartered in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal.
