New Delhi: Engineers India Limited's (EIL) Director (Commercial) Rakesh Kumar Sabharwal, who is also holding additional charge of CMD post, has been given a tenure extension on his additional charge. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday, EIL informed that the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has approved the proposal for the extension of the additional charge of the post of CMD of EIL assigned to RK Sabharwal. The services of Sabharwal, as CMD of EIL, have been extended for a period with effect from May 1 to September 26, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. He is holding the additional charge of the post after JC Nakra's retirement.
Sabharwal has more than 37 years of experience in various positions in all areas of commercial function since 1983. He has hands-on experience in the international and domestic commercial domains. His expertise covers various aspects of international trade, EXIM procedures, Taxation, legal aspects etc. He has proven competence in systems development. His job responsibilities include establishing fair and transparent systems, planning manpower allocation, finalizing e-enabling strategies including e-procurement, evaluation techniques, negotiation methodologies and interface management, development of suitable commercial procedures, finalization of detailed contractual terms for domestic and global commerce.
He was also posted in Dubai for independently leading the entire commercial function for Gasoline Facilities Project of Iso Octane Company, Dubai during 1998-1999. He has successfully demonstrated leadership skills over the years. He has successfully managed various functions including day-to-day operations under complex management situations. He was also actively involved with IT Applications in various business processes in the company and has been spearheading IT applications in Commercial Function for the last several years. He is a member of All India Management Association, Indian Institute of Materials Management and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
