Rakesh Shrivastava (ITS) appointed as CVO of Deendayal Port Trust, Kandla

• Rakesh Shrivastava (ITS) has been appointed as CVO of Deendayal Port Trust
• Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer of 1996-batch Srivastava is currently serving as CVO of Mumbai Port Trust

New Delhi: Rakesh Shrivastava (ITS) has been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Deendayal Port Trust (DPT), Kandla. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the government has approved the proposal for entrustment of the additional charge of the post to Shrivastava for a period of six months with effect from May 23, 2021, or till the appointment of a regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as CVO of Mumbai Port Trust.

Shrivastava is an Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer of 1996-batch. He has been serving as CVO of Mumbai Port Trust since October 1, 2020. He has about 22 years of wide experience in handling administration, operational and vigilance issues in various organisations and in various cities. He did Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication and MBA in HRM. He has served in various capacities at senior positions in the government. Prior to this, he was General Manager in RailTel Corporation of India Limited, under the Ministry of Railways.

Deendayal Port Trust, located in the town of Kandla, is a seaport and town in the Kutch district of Gujarat state in Western India, near the city of Gandhidham. Located on the Gulf of Kutch, it is one of the major ports on the west coast. Kandla Port was constructed in the 1950s as the chief seaport serving western India, due to the partition of India leaving the port of Karachi in Pakistan.
