New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) for the appointment of Sanjay Khanna as Director (Refineries) in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Monday. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Khanna has been appointed as Director (Refineries) of BPCL for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier. He is currently serving as Executive Director in the same Maharatna oil PSU.
Earlier, Khanna was recommended for the post of Director (Refineries) of BPCL by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on October 22, 2021. He was among seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.
Khanna is a chemical engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli and a post-graduate in finance management from Mumbai University. He started his carrier as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1991 from Mumbai Refinery of BPCL. He also served Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) as General Manager (Technical) for three years.
