New Delhi: Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ) has conferred PSU Award of the Year 2020 to SJVN Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Nand Lal Sharma. The award has been conferred in recognition of the outstanding contribution made by Sharma to make SJVN the most efficient and profitable Miniratna company of the year 2020. Sharma has been heading SJVN Limited as CMD since December 2017.
"Under the dynamic leadership of Sharma, SJVN has emerged as a major player in the power sector in India and neighbouring countries. SJVN currently is constructing seven power projects with a capacity of around 3,300 MW in India, Nepal and Bhutan. His persistent and unrelenting efforts have resulted in the allocation of more than 10 power projects in India and abroad in the last two years. SJVN has set ambitious targets of becoming a 5,000 MW company by 2023, 12,000 MW company by 2030 and 25,000 MW company by 2040," said an official press release from SJVN Limited.
Further, SJVN is going to invest Rs 30,000 crores in the next five years and Rs 60,000 crores in the next ten years in various projects in India and abroad. This will result in employment generation, infrastructure development and socio-economic growth.
SJVN's present installed capacity is 2016.51 MW with a portfolio of around 9,000 MW, having a presence in various sectors of energy generation which includes Hydro, Wind, Solar & Thermal. The company also has a presence in the field of energy transmission.
