New Delhi: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) observed 'Swachhata Pakhwada' 2021 from July 1, to July 15, with several innovative programs to raise awareness on cleanliness in the society. The fortnight-long campaign is spearheaded under the 'Swachha Bharat Mission' of the government and as per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Considering the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, distribution of face-mask, sanitiser, hand-gloves and other hygiene products was taken up as major activities during the period.

Cleanliness & Sanitisation drives were conducted and emphasis was given on the generation of awareness towards cleanliness through digital platforms like NRL social media platforms and NRL Website. Online meetings and webinars were also arranged during the period to spread the message on Swachhata.

Swachhata Pakhwada started with Swachhata Pledge taken by employees at different work locations of the company including Refinery, Guwahati, New Delhi and Siliguri.  The mass sanitisation drives were carried out in the nearby market areas of Siliguri Marketing Terminal and a cleanliness drive was conducted in the neighbouring areas of the Numaligarh Refinery site. More than 300 COVID Hygiene Kits comprising masks, sanitisers, hand-wash, gloves etc. were distributed among frontline health-workers of PHCs/BPHCs, Safai-sathis of local markets and Municipal workers of Golaghat Municipal Board.
