New Delhi: As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission, the nationwide campaign initiated by the Government for cleanliness, BEML Limited observed a fortnight-long 'Swachhta Pakhwada' program from December 1 to December 15, across all its offices, factories and establishments to spread the message on cleanliness and educating the younger generation on 'Swacch Bharat, Swasth Bharat.'
After administering the Swachhta Pledge, to launch the 'Pakhwada,' various programmes were organised to encourage the observance of cleanliness by all employees. During this fortnight, disposing of scrap materials; cleanliness drive at the public places, township; weeding out of old files & old equipment; plantation of tree saplings, fumigation, disposal of e-waste, clearing drainage etc. were undertaken.
To spread awareness about cleanliness, posters and banners were displayed at various strategic locations in and around factory complexes and residential townships. To reach out to the families and the children of the employees, various programmes such as seminars, essay writing & drawing competitions on the subject of cleanliness were organized during this fortnight.
Finally, prizes were given to the winners of the various competitions at the valedictory program on December 15, 2022 prizes.
Under BEML's green initiative free saplings were also distributed to the employees.
