Natural gas shall remain an important energy source for Indian ecosystem: EIL CMD

New Delhi: Engineers India Limited's (EIL) Chairperson & Managing Director (CMD) Vartika Shukla delivered the special address during the inaugural session of 'Economic Times Energy World Gas Conclave 2022' held in New Delhi from December 5 to December 6. The inaugural session was graced by eminent thought leaders of the Indian energy sector including former Secretary of Ministry of Power Dr Anil Razdan and former CMD of GAIL (India) Limited Dr Ashutosh Karnatak.

Addressing the august gathering, Shukla in her special address said that natural gas shall remain an important energy source for the Indian ecosystem with the government aiming to raise the share of gas in the energy mix to 15 percent by 2030.

"Focused approach towards development and integration of pipeline networks, prudentṇ pricing policy and clearly defined priority sectors for utilization of gas shall help in development and transition towards gas economy," she added. She also advocated for a robust and mature Gas Exchange to pave way for a sustainable India.
