NBCC CVO Ajay Kumar Rana gets tenure extension

New Delhi: NBCC (India) Limited's Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Ajay Kumar Rana has been given an extension by the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training), on January 1. Rana is currently serving as CVO of Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and is holding additional charge of the CVO's post at NBCC Limited since September 20, 2019. He has been given an extension for a period of nine months starting from December 18, 2019, or till the appointment of a regular CVO in NBCC, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest, an official order said on Thursday.

Education & background

Rana is a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Delhi Technological University (DTU) and is an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer. He also holds an MBA Degree from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of the University of Delhi.

Rana started his career in the Ministry of Railways in 1990 and served Indian Railways in various capacities in the fields of Design, Maintenance and Operations of Diesel Locomotives, Passenger Coaches and Freight Cars and General Management of Railway Systems. Subsequently, he had a brief stint as Group General Manager (Mechanical) in RITES Limited before taking up as Chief Vigilance Officer with CPWD of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs.

The organisation acquired over 51 percent stake in Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL), a PSU under the Steel Ministry in 2017.
