New Delhi: Excited by the 100% acquisition of Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation (HSCC) NBCC CMD has said NBCC has detailed plans for HSCC and floating IPO is one of them. "As you know this company is doing almost everything from road construction to buildings to hospitals, affordable housing to rural roads to border fencing and so on and so forth. We are planning an IPO for HSCC as it's a profit-making company with good business volume and net worth" said Dr. AK Mittal, CMD, NBCC in an exclusive interview to PSU Watch.

All Healthcare Projects Under One Roof

HSCC, formerly known as Hospital Services Consultancy, currently has an order book of Rs 100 billion. Post take over the NBCC has become India's mega construction company with different verticals of expertise in diverse construction industry. "In the health sector where we construct hospitals and in India, I can claim no other single company has built a greater number of hospitals than NBCC has. HSCC under ministry of health and family welfare does almost the same thing. Now we plan to put all health-related projects in the basket of one company and turn HSCC into a mega health company" said Mittal.

Will Run Hospitals On 'PPP' Model

CMD of the construction giant also said that post acquisition of HSCC now NBCC also aspires to take up mega projects as Ayushman bharat, constructions of big hospitals, manufacturing of hospital-equipments and even making and running hospitals on PPP model whether with Fortis, Medanta like healthcare companies.

"HSCC is making hospital and cancer institute in Mauritius so with acquisition of HSCC we have good scope in terms of expansion of business to foreign countries as well" added Mittal. HSCC under the health and family welfare ministry, used to provide project management and consultancy services from concept to commissioning for institutional and healthcare infra projects before being acquired by NBCC last month.
