NCL produced 106.50 MT coal in FY2019-20

Singrauli: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Coal India Limited subsidiary, has achieved its assigned coal production and dispatch targets of 106.25 Million Tonnes (MT) for FY 2019-20 on March 27, four days ahead of fiscal completion.

The company, till March 27, has produced 106.50 MT of coal, surpassing its annual target of 106.25 MT coal production with a 6.15 percent y-o-y growth rate. Similarly, the company has also surpassed its annual coal dispatch targets of 106.25 MT by dispatching 106.38 MT of coal with a 5.90 percent y-o-y growth rate.

Commenting on the achievement, the NCL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) PK Sinha, Director (Technical/Operations) Gunadhar Pandey, Director (Finance) NN Thakur, Director (Technical, Project and Planning) MK Prasad and Director (Personnel) Bimlendu Kumar congratulated team NCL and all the stakeholders of the company and also appealed to the company to abide by all instructions and guidelines relating to precautions and safety during coal production in the wake of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In order to meet the country's energy requirements, the company has supplied 86.30 million tonnes of coal to powerhouses in the financial year 2019-20 which is more than 80 percent of its total coal offtake.

NCL is a Singrauli-based Miniratna company of the government and a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. The company produces coal from its 10 highly mechanised open cast coal mines, with more than 12,00 heavy machines. The company utilises modern infrastructures like Rapid Loading System for loading and Merry-Go-Round and Belt Pipe conveyor systems for coal transportation for coal dispatch. The company has also deployed surface miners in its mines.
