New Delhi: Breaking its own record, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) has scaled the new milestone of coal production by producing 101.66 million tonnes (MT) of coal till March 12, which is the highest ever in a financial year since the inception of the company. The production gears past the company's own record of producing 101.50 million tonnes of coal in the last fiscal.

NCL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) PK Sinha and functional directors of the company congratulated team NCL and expressed hope that the company will not only achieve its annual targets but also surpass them for the energy security of the nation.

NCL has produced 101.66 million tonnes of coal in the current financial year till Thursday (March 12). The company has dispatched 102.31 million tonnes of coal so far in the current financial year.

Notably, NCL has been entrusted with the responsibility of producing 106.25 million tonnes of coal production and dispatch. The company is sailing at a growth rate of more than 6 percent. Going by its spectacular performance all through, the company is likely to achieve the current fiscal targets well within the agreed time frame and is also expected to go beyond the assigned targets.

NCL is Singrauli based subsidiary of coal mining giant Coal India Limited operating from 10 mines in MP and UP states. Singrauli, based out of Madhya Pradesh, is also known as the energy capital of India.
