

New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) reported strong growth in FY 2025-26, with its loan book rising to Rs 93,069 crore, as the renewable energy financier plans to expand lending to emerging segments including battery energy storage, pumped storage, green hydrogen and smart meters.

Addressing IREDA’s 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held through video conferencing, Dr Bijay Kumar Mohanty, CMD and Director (Finance), said the company’s loan book has recorded a 29 percent CAGR since FY22.
IREDA sanctioned loans worth Rs 51,883 crore and disbursed Rs 34,946 crore during FY26. Profit after tax and total income have grown at around 31 percent CAGR since FY22, while the company’s net worth increased to Rs 13,781 crore. Its Capital to Risk-weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) stood at 20.59 percent.

Outlining IREDA’s future growth plans, Mohanty said the company will scale up financing for emerging clean energy and energy-transition segments, including battery energy storage systems, pumped storage projects, green hydrogen and smart meters.
The company also plans to expand its global financing operations through its subsidiary in GIFT City and improve the ease of doing business for borrowers through greater digitisation and simplified processes.
During the AGM, Mohanty and IREDA’s Board of Directors released the company’s first-ever ESG Report for FY 2025-26.
The report outlines IREDA’s environmental, social and governance initiatives and its efforts to integrate sustainability and responsible business practices into its operations. It also highlights the company’s role in supporting India’s Net Zero ambition and Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitments.
Mohanty said the ESG report captures IREDA’s performance across the Environmental, Social and Governance dimensions and reflects its focus on responsible growth and transparent governance.
The CMD also responded to queries raised by shareholders during the AGM.
