New Delhi: The Union Minister for Power Manohar Lal inaugurated the Ministry of Power Pavilion at the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.

The pavilion, themed “From Megawatts to Megabytes: Transforming India’s Power Ecosystem,” showcases how digital technologies and AI are reshaping electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems across the country. It presents a forward-looking roadmap focused on integrating advanced analytics and automation to enhance operational efficiency and infrastructure reliability.

Key highlights at the pavilion include AI-driven solutions aimed at improving decision-making across the power value chain, a Startup Zone promoting innovation in the energy ecosystem, and 'PG-AMRIT', an artificial intelligence-enabled asset management initiative by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited' designed to strengthen transmission monitoring and operational performance.

Another major feature is the eAabhas early warning system, an AI/ML and IoT-based platform for real-time dam and barrage monitoring and flood forecasting, intended to enhance safety and proactive risk management. The pavilion also demonstrates AI-driven implementation under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aimed at addressing efficiency and revenue management challenges faced by power distribution companies.

During the summit, the Minister also visited the exhibition of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, where Managing Director Vikas Kumar briefed him on the organisation’s AI initiatives. Officials said AI is being deployed to enable faster resolution of customer grievances and improve passenger services, while also supporting maintenance activities such as monitoring overhead electrification systems, wheel grinding, rolling stock subsystems and signalling operations.
