BEML unveils India’s biggest and most advanced crawler dozer
New Delhi: Demonstrating India’s unmatched engineering dominance and self-reliance, BEML Limited, one of country’s powerhouses in heavy equipment manufacturing, has launched the BD475-2 Dozer—the nation’s biggest and most technologically advanced crawler dozer ever created. Powered by a 950 HP engine, this state-of-the-art machine has been designed and developed entirely by in-house team of BEML.

The BD475-2 Dozer symbolizes technological excellence and innovation, matching world-class standards to address the growing demands of domestic and global markets. Developed at BEML’s flagship manufacturing facility in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), near Bangalore, the dozer is the result of collaborative efforts by a team of seasoned and young professionals.
This 100-ton engineering marvel, equipped with a 30-litre Cummins QST30 electronic engine compliant with EPA Tier-II emission norms, delivers 950 FHP at 2100 rpm. Featuring a semi-U blade with a capacity of 25.6 cubic meters, the BD475-2 Dozer is built for durability, maintainability, and serviceability, making it an indispensable asset for mining operations.
BEML Limited CMD Shantanu Roy inaugurated the dozer, stating, “We take immense pride in launching the BD475-2, a landmark achievement in India’s journey toward self-reliance. Developed by our in-house team, this dozer integrates eco-friendly features with exceptional performance, setting new benchmarks in the mining sector.”
Engineered with advanced features like a planetary power shift transmission, torque converter with lockup clutch, and a modular powertrain, the BD475-2 Dozer ensures exceptional fuel efficiency and durability. Innovations such as pivot shafts, pinned equalizer bars, and Anti-Vibration Mounts (AVM) enhance undercarriage life and reduce noise and vibration, ensuring improved operator comfort. An acoustically refined cabin, equipped with pneumatic suspension seating and an advanced electronic monitoring system, further optimizes operational safety and control.
