New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Saturday announced that it has signed an MoU with Greenstat Hydrogen India Pvt. Ltd. for “potential collaboration opportunities in Green Hydrogen and derivatives in the Hydrogen Value Chain.”

According to the company’s regulatory filing to the stock exchange, this partnership will pave the way for collaboration in Hydrogen value chain, contributing towards 'National Hydrogen Mission' of the Government of India, making India 'Atmanirbhar'.

Priviously, BHEL had announced that it is looking to engage a business consultant to explore opportunities in electrolyzers production and the Green Hydrogen value chain.

"In line with the company’s aspirations of identification and diversification into emerging technology areas for growth & sustainability and simultaneously increasing the share of the non-coal business, BHEL has identified the hydrogen economy value chain as a potential business play and has started efforts to realize the same," BHEL had said in a RFP document available on its website.

S Prabhakar, GM & Head (Coal to Chemicals) and Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chairman of Greenstst Hydrogen India Pvt. Ltd., have signed the MoU in the presence of Upinder Singh Matharu, Director (Power) of BHEL, Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (ER&D) and Director (Finance) – Additional Charge of BHEL, Jeewan Prakash Gupta, MD of Greenstat Hydrogen India Pvt. Ltd. and other senior officials of BHEL.
