BHEL signs technology collaboration pact with South Korea’s E2S for excitation systems

New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Thursday announced that it has entered into a Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with E2S Company Limited for excitation systems used in synchronous machines.

The agreement, classified as an international collaboration, will focus on Static Excitation Systems (SEE) and Brushless Excitation Systems (AVR), the Maharatna PSU said in its regulatory filing to stock exchanges.

Under the pact, BHEL will gain capabilities across the entire value chain, including design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, testing, servicing, retrofitting and sale of excitation systems in domestic as well as overseas markets.

The company said the collaboration is expected to enhance its technological capabilities and strengthen its position in the excitation systems segment for synchronous machines. It will also support BHEL in maintaining its competitive edge in the power equipment and industrial systems space.

Further, the agreement aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative by enabling indigenous development and deployment of advanced excitation system technologies.
