New Delhi: State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed a contract with Adani Power Limited for setting up three Supercritical Thermal Power Projects in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Monday, BHEL said, “Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed contract agreement with Adani Power Ltd and its subsidiary (Mahan Energen Ltd) for setting up 3 nos Supercritical Thermal Power projects (each of 2x800 MW rating) in Kawai, Rajasthan & Mahan, Madhya Pradesh.”

The contract agreement was signed on August 25 and involves the supply of equipment like, boiler, turbine, and generator, and the supervision of erection and commissioning for the three power projects.

Order valued at over Rs 11,000 crore: BHEL

The value of the three power projects aggregates to more than Rs 11,000 crore. The timeline for the completion of the projects is 49 months for Kawai Phase II, and 52 months for Kawai Phase III in Rajasthan and 55 months for Mahan Phase-III in Madhya Pradesh.

Adani Power has 11.2 GW of coal-based power generation capacity in the pipeline, out of which 6.4 GW are ongoing projects and 4.8 GW are in advance ordering stage.
