BSNL awards Rs 2,903 crore 4G network expansion order to TCS

New Delhi: State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has issued an add-on Advance Purchase Order (APO) worth Rs 2,903.22 crore to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for the expansion of its 4G mobile network infrastructure.

As per a regulatory filing made by TCS, the APO includes the planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and annual maintenance of 4G mobile network equipment at 18,685 sites across the country.

This additional order is part of BSNL’s broader effort to modernise its telecom infrastructure and expand 4G coverage under the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The APO is a significant step in BSNL’s long-awaited nationwide 4G rollout, which is being implemented in partnership with a consortium led by TCS and includes Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and state-run ITI Ltd.

TCS stated that detailed purchase orders will be issued by BSNL subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions and documentation outlined in the APO.
