Organised by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), the two-day national convention witnessed the presence of Dr. Kambhampati Hari Babu, the Governor of Odisha, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Hari Babu commended IREDA’s vital contribution to India’s renewable energy sector and acknowledged the significance of its recent stock exchange listing, calling it a milestone in the nation’s green finance ecosystem.
In his inaugural session keynote, Das underscored the growing influence of CMAs globally, noting that their strategic insights are now integral to over 50 percent of Fortune 500 companies. “CMAs have evolved from traditional cost controllers to strategic advisors and value partners,” he said, adding that their expertise is increasingly sought after in emerging markets.
Highlighting IREDA’s recent achievements, Das shared the company’s journey of complete digital transformation and robust growth. “IREDA has seen a 3.5-fold increase in its loan book over the past five years, accomplished with a leaner and more efficient workforce,” he said. He credited a significant part of this transformation to effective financial governance and strategic roles played by professionals like CMAs.
Das emphasized the importance of CMAs in steering corporate sustainability, governance frameworks, and financial innovation. “The future belongs to adaptive and strategic financial leaders, and CMAs are well-positioned to lead India’s economic transformation,” he added.
