

New Delhi: Coal India Limited's (CIL) Chairman B Sairam reviewed key mining operations and infrastructure during his visit to Talcher Coalfields of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).
During the visit, he inspected the newly commissioned Automatic Truck Loading System (ATLS) at Bhubaneswari Area and assessed operational progress at Bhubaneswari OCP and Ananta OCP. He commended MCL for its continued focus on sustainable and innovative mining practices, as well as operational efficiency.

The Chairman also held discussions with public and union representatives, highlighting employee welfare and inclusive growth. Addressing the media, he underlined Coal India’s strategic push towards diversification into solar and other renewable energy segments, while maintaining a strong focus on sustainable coal mining. He also emphasised the adoption of technologies such as silos and ATLS to mitigate dust pollution.
“Coal India ensures 80 percent of the nation’s energy needs, which will continue for a long time,” he said.

MCL CMD Uday Anant Kaole along with functional directors, accompanied the Chairman during the visit.
Sairam appreciated the dedication and performance of employees and felicitated outstanding performers, including contractors’ workers, with special recognition given to ‘Narishakti’ of MCL for their contributions.
The Chairman is on a three-day maiden visit to MCL, during which he will visit key mine areas and operational units of the company.
