Coal India Chairman reviews operations at North Eastern Coalfields (NEC)

Margherita, Assam: The Chairman of Coal India Limited (CIL) PM Prasad recently visited the North Eastern Coalfields (NEC) located in Margherita, Assam, to inspect the operational performance of its Tikak and Tirap mines. During his visit, Prasad conducted an extensive review of NEC’s overall performance and engaged with trade union leaders to discuss ongoing and future initiatives.

The Chairman was accompanied by Alok Lalit Kumar, Executive Director and Technical Secretary to the Chairman, K. Mere, General Manager of NEC, and other senior members of NEC’s management. The visit highlighted CIL’s focus on strengthening operational efficiencies and fostering dialogue with key stakeholders in the region. The NEC’s operations are directly overseen by CIL’s corporate office in Kolkata.

In addition to the operational review, Prasad participated in the inauguration of the ‘9th Krida Mahotsav’ at Vivekanand Kendra Vidyalaya, NEC. The event, aimed at promoting sports and cultural activities among employees and the local community, reflects NEC’s commitment to holistic development in its areas of operation.
