This visit marks a key milestone for India’s coal mining sector, following the achievement of the twin benchmarks of 1 billion tonnes of coal production and dispatch. Reddy is expected to interact with a wide range of stakeholders from the mining ecosystem, including frontline mine workers who played a pivotal role in reaching this historic feat.

During his visit, the Minister will also recognise and appreciate the significant contributions of the Coal Mining family that enabled the sector to achieve the 1 billion tonne milestone. His interactions are aimed at reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and safety in coal mining operations.

In addition to the site visit and stakeholder meetings, Reddy will meet with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to deliberate on the future roadmap for the state’s mining sector. The meeting is expected to focus on boosting coal production, expanding infrastructure, and exploring new avenues for sustainable development in the region.
