

New Delhi: State-run logistics major Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) has expanded its domestic rail logistics operations from Hubballi in Karnataka with the successful movement of the first container rake carrying pig iron from the MAKU siding to Ludhiana.

The operation was executed in collaboration with South Western Railway, TCI CONCOR Multimodal Logistics, SLR Metallics Ltd and MSPL AHB, marking a further step toward strengthening multimodal cargo movement and improving rail-linked supply chains for industries in the region.

According to the company, the newly launched service is expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce transit time and facilitate smoother movement of industrial cargo between Karnataka and northern markets.
The development also underlines the increasing role of integrated rail logistics solutions in creating faster, more reliable and sustainable freight transportation networks across the country.
