New Delhi: Chandrapuram Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan has sworn in as the 15th Vice-President of India sworn in as the 15th Vice-President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha on Friday. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of several dignitaries.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Vice-Presidents Jagdeep Dhankhar and Hamid Ansari, Cabinet Ministers, and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and other digitries were also present.

In a social media post on X, the PM Modi congratulated Radhakrishnan and wished him a successful Vice Presidential tenure, dedicated to the service of the people.

Radhakrishnan is an Indian politician serving as 15th and current Vice President of India since 2025. He previously served as Governor of Maharashtra from July 2024 to September 2025 and the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since his youth, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore in the 1998 and re-elected in the 1999 general elections. He was also the state president of the BJP in Tamil Nadu from 2003 to 2006.
