New Delhi: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A.P. Moller - Maersk to explore strategic collaboration opportunities in ship repair, maintenance, and shipbuilding within India. This partnership is in alignment with the Government of India's Vision 2047 maritime objectives and the Union Budget 2025-26 initiatives aimed at positioning India as a leading global maritime hub.

This information has been shared by the shipping PSU in a regulotry filing to the stock exchange on February 17.

Under the terms of the MoU, CSL and A.P. Moller - Maersk will engage in comprehensive cooperation to enhance India’s maritime capabilities. The collaboration will prioritize the sharing of technical expertise to achieve global standards in ship maintenance. Additionally, the two entities will explore potential avenues for ship repair, dry docking, and new shipbuilding projects, thereby broadening the scope of maritime operations in India.

Furthermore, the partnership will encompass the implementation of joint training programs, emphasizing the adoption of responsible and sustainable practices within the maritime industry. A key component of the collaboration will also be dedicated to skill development initiatives, designed to enhance the technical competencies of CSL's workforce and A.P. Moller - Maersk's seafarers.
