

New Delhi: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has inaugurated an Experience Centre at its headquarters in Mumbai, showcasing the institution’s development journey, innovations and impact on rural India.

The Department of Financial Services' Secretary Sanjay Lohiya inaugurated the technology-enabled centre in the presence of NABARD Chairman Dr Shaji Krishnan V., Deputy Managing Directors Goverdhan S. Rawat, Dr Ajay K. Sood and Rakesh Kashyap, and senior officials.
The Experience Centre takes visitors through NABARD’s key milestones, rural development initiatives and success stories through interactive physical and digital exhibits. It showcases projects supported by NABARD and interventions covering climate-resilient agriculture, self-help groups, rural infrastructure and digital financial inclusion.
The centre also highlights NABARD’s evolution from a refinancing institution into a development financial institution focused on inclusive and sustainable rural development. It showcases solutions developed in collaboration with government agencies, state governments, startups, research institutions, financial institutions and rural entrepreneurs to address rural challenges.

NABARD Chairman Dr Shaji Krishnan said the centre would help bridge the gap between the institution’s initiatives and the communities they are designed to empower. He said the facility would deepen public understanding of NABARD’s work, encourage dialogue and strengthen partnerships supporting India’s rural development agenda.
The centre also provides a platform for showcasing solutions that have been piloted and implemented to address real-world rural challenges and aims to foster collaboration and innovation in the rural development ecosystem.
