New Delhi: Dr PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, on Tuesday inaugurated the second batch of DAKSH, a flagship leadership development programme jointly conceptualised by the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi.
The programme aims to strengthen leadership capabilities across India’s public sector enterprises (PSEs), building on the foundation laid by its inaugural batch. The launch ceremony was attended by senior government functionaries, including Ms. S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson, CBC; K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises; Rachna Shah, Secretary, DoPT; and K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE, along with top executives from PSEs and central ministries.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mishra underscored the critical role played by public sector enterprises in shaping India’s industrial and infrastructure base, and stressed the need for innovation and technology-driven competitiveness amid a volatile global environment. He encouraged participants to use the programme to broaden perspectives and sharpen decision-making skills.
The second cohort of DAKSH comprises over 70 senior executives from various PSEs and will run as a 12-month immersive learning programme. It is being conducted in association with leadership advisory firm Egon Zehnder as knowledge partner and IIM Indore as academic partner, with a focus on developing strategic, behavioural and transformational leadership competencies for future-ready public sector leadership.
