New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL) has secured the engineering, procurement, construction, and management (EPCM) contract for the 360 KTPA Polypropylene Unit (PPU) Project at Numaligarh Refinery. The contract has been awarded by Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), with an estimated value of approximately Rs. 252.95 crore plus GST. This information has been shared by the EIL in a regulatory filing on March 18.
"EIL received the official work order on March 13, 2025. However, clarifications regarding contractual terms were sought from NRL and were subsequently received on March 17, 2025," it added.
The project, classified as a domestic contract, is set to be executed over a period of 36 months at Numaligarh Refinery in Assam. While EIL holds a minority stake in NRL, the contract does not fall within the ambit of related party transactions.
This strategic project is expected to enhance Numaligarh Refinery’s petrochemical capabilities, contributing to India’s self-reliance in polypropylene production. The detailed disclosure regarding this development has been made available on EIL’s investor relations website.
