Industry representatives also briefed the minister on the sector's evolving requirements and stressed the need for continued policy support to help Indian manufacturers scale up production and enhance their presence in domestic and overseas markets.

A key demand raised during the discussions was the extension of the PM E-DRIVE scheme, which provides incentives for electric mobility, including electric two-wheelers. Manufacturers also sought revisions to the PLI Auto Scheme to better align it with the changing requirements of the industry.

Responding to the industry, Kumaraswamy assured stakeholders that the Ministry of Heavy Industries would extend all possible support to promote innovation and manufacturing in the sector.
