New Delhi: State-owned natural gas major GAIL (India) Ltd on Friday reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 5,706 crore for the nine months ended December 31, lower than Rs 9,263 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

The company’s revenue from operations during the April–December period of FY26 stood at Rs 1,03,899 crore, compared with Rs 1,01,580 crore in the same period of FY25. Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the nine-month period declined to Rs 7,387 crore from Rs 12,123 crore a year ago. The performance in FY25 included an exceptional income of Rs 2,440 crore arising from an arbitration settlement with SMTS.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, GAIL’s Revenue from Operations in Q3 FY26 stood at Rs 34,076 crore, marginally lower than Rs 35,031 crore in Q2 FY26. PBT declined to Rs 2,030 crore in the third quarter from Rs 2,823 crore in the previous quarter, while PAT fell to Rs 1,603 crore from Rs 2,217 crore.

Operationally, average natural gas transmission volume during Q3 FY26 increased to 125.45 million metric standard cubic metres per day (MMSCMD) from 123.59 MMSCMD in Q2 FY26. Gas marketing volume, however, moderated to 103.98 MMSCMD compared to 105.49 MMSCMD in the previous quarter. LHC sales declined to 200 thousand metric tonnes (TMT) from 223 TMT, while polymer sales rose to 218 TMT from 209 TMT on a quarter-on-quarter basis.

On a consolidated basis, Revenue from Operations for the nine months ended December 31, 2025 stood at Rs 1,06,389 crore, as against Rs 1,05,740 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Consolidated PBT declined to Rs 7,759 crore from Rs 12,856 crore, while PAT (excluding non-controlling interest) stood at Rs 6,098 crore, compared with Rs 9,958 crore a year earlier.

For Q3 FY26, consolidated Revenue from Operations was reported at Rs 35,303 crore, slightly lower than Rs 35,657 crore in Q2 FY26. Consolidated PBT stood at Rs 2,165 crore versus Rs 2,565 crore in the previous quarter, while consolidated PAT (excluding non-controlling interest) declined to Rs 1,756 crore from Rs 1,972 crore.

Commenting on the performance, GAIL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sandeep Kumar Gupta said that during Q3 FY26, 1,182 km of the Mumbai–Nagpur–Jharsuguda pipeline was commissioned, taking the company’s operational natural gas pipeline network beyond 18,000 km. He also noted that GAIL Global IFSC Limited (GGIL), the company’s wholly owned subsidiary at GIFT City, has successfully commenced business operations within the first year of its incorporation.
