Highlighting the significance of the Mahotsav amid rapidly shifting global dynamics, Singh described it as a catalyst for India’s rise in the defence sector. He drew attention to HSL’s enduring legacy of over eight decades, having delivered more than 200 ships and repaired over 2,000 vessels for the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and commercial entities.

The CMD spotlighted HSL’s remarkable turnaround, noting that after decades of financial strain, the shipyard posted its highest-ever value of production and profit in FY 2024–25, turning net worth positive for the first time in 40 years. The company currently holds an order book of nearly Rs 20,000 crore. “This revival is not just in numbers, but also in the confidence of our customers, government, vendors, and workforce,” Singh said, aligning the achievement with national missions under Atmanirbhar Bharat and Maritime India Vision 2030.

Singh further detailed HSL’s strategic contributions, including the landmark Fleet Support Ship programme and upcoming advanced submarine refits, which he said would bolster India’s maritime security and technological sovereignty.

He also emphasized the shipyard’s collaborative approach, particularly in creating growth opportunities for MSMEs, start-ups, and industry partners. “Reforms and partnerships are opening avenues for thousands of vendors to grow alongside HSL,” he noted.
