New Delhi: Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) marked its presence at the Argus Agri Vikas Conclave 2025 held in Bhubaneswar on May 15, advocating a shift towards sustainable and farmer-centric agriculture. The event, themed “Seeds of Change in Odisha,” brought together policymakers, industry experts, and progressive farmers to deliberate on the future of Indian agriculture.
Representing HURL, Manish Billore, Vice President (Marketing), participated in a key panel discussion titled “India@2047: Redefining Agriculture for Future Policy Push.” He presented HURL’s perspective on building a resilient food system anchored in ecological balance and innovation.
Highlighting the critical role of soil health in sustainable farming, Billore stressed the importance of enhancing Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) to improve crop productivity, restore degraded soils, and mitigate the impact of climate change. “To feed the future, we must begin by healing the soil. Increasing SOC is fundamental to regenerating our agricultural ecosystems,” he said.
Billore also pointed to Odisha's potential as a model for ecological agriculture, citing the state’s diverse agro-ecological zones, traditional farming knowledge, and supportive government policies.
Reaffirming HURL’s commitment to sustainable agricultural transformation, he said, “We see our role not just as producers of fertilizers, but as partners in creating a sustainable agricultural future for India. We are deeply committed to empowering farmers, preserving soil health, and building climate-resilient food systems.”
The conclave provided a platform for aligning key stakeholders on long-term goals for agriculture in India, with HURL playing an active role in shaping a shared vision for 2047 and beyond.
HURL, a joint venture promoted by leading public sector undertakings, continues to focus on innovative and sustainable solutions to support India’s agricultural ecosystem.
