New Delhi: With India Energy Week (IEW) 2024 less than a week away, energy majors in India are readying to showcase their innovations and initiatives in the sector and their journey towards Net Zero. In the run-up to the event, PSU Watch spoke to Numaligarh Refinery Limited’s (NRL) MD Bhaskar Phukan about the PSU’s preparations for the event. Phukan said that the oil retailer, which is aiming to attain Net Zero emissions by 2038, is planning to showcase its initiatives in bioethanol 2G, Green Hydrogen and its ambitious refinery expansion project. He also said that the PSU is looking forward to win-win collaborations with other stakeholders in the oil and gas domain.

NRL is excited about the opportunity to engage in a global energy dialogue, network with key industry players, and learn about innovative practices in the energy sector. We are looking forward to win-win collaborations with other stakeholders in the Oil and Gas domain.
What does your company plan to showcase?
NRL wishes to showcase its initiatives in Bioethanol 2G, Green Hydrogen, and its Refinery Expansion project to 9 MMTPA, aligning with the event’s emphasis on growth and sustainable energy solutions.
According to you, what would be some of the themes that will be in the spotlight this year at IEW 2024?
The themes likely to be in the spotlight at IEW 2024 may include sustainable energy transition, renewable energy sources like biofuels and green hydrogen, and large-scale infrastructure projects like refinery expansions. These align with the global and Indian context of increasing demand for sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
