The Katra–Banihal section forms part of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, a key railway connectivity initiative in the Himalayan region. Maintaining reliable communication, surveillance and emergency warning systems is essential for the safe and efficient operation of railway infrastructure in the challenging terrain.
IRCON said the contract is a domestic works order awarded by KRCL on an arm’s-length basis. The company clarified that the contract does not involve any interest of its promoter group and does not constitute a related-party transaction.
