

New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has resigned from his post on personal grounds and will step down from the position with effect from July 20.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, IRCTC said that it has received a letter from the Ministry of Railways dated June 22, conveying the approval of the competent authority for Jain's resignation. The company received the communication on June 23.
The Ministry of Railways has informed the company that orders regarding the assignment of additional charge of the post of CMD, IRCTC, will be issued separately in due course.
Jain had submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Railways, citing personal reasons. In his resignation letter, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the organisation and described his tenure at IRCTC as the "greatest privilege" of his professional life.

He acknowledged the contribution of employees and stakeholders in the company's growth and highlighted the transformation of IRCTC from a Mini Ratna to a Navratna public sector enterprise, as well as its elevation from a Schedule 'B' to a Schedule 'A' CPSE during his tenure.
Jain stated that he was grateful for the trust and support extended to him and expressed confidence in the company's future growth prospects. He also assured the ministry of his full cooperation in ensuring a smooth and orderly transition.
IRCTC, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is engaged in catering, tourism and online ticketing services for Indian Railways and has emerged as one of the country's leading travel and hospitality companies.
