Under this contract, ITI Limited will develop, implement, and maintain the MDTSS across the districts of Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Nainital. A five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to formalize the partnership. The project includes the installation of advanced systems at 40 check gates, with Dehradun having 8 gates, Haridwar 13, Nainital 10, and Udham Singh Nagar 9.

The MDTSS will utilize advanced technology, including bullet cameras, RFID radars, and LED floodlights, to monitor and prevent illegal mining activities. Additionally, a Mining State Control Centre (MSCC) will be established in Dehradun, supported by mini command centers in district headquarters.

Speaking on this milestone, ITI Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Rajesh Rai said, “We are honored to partner with the Government of Uttarakhand in addressing the issue of illegal mining. This project underscores ITI's expertise in providing technological solutions to meet critical challenges. We are also exploring similar initiatives with other states.”

Rai further emphasized the broader impact of the initiative, stating, “Illegal mining not only results in economic losses for the government through tax evasion but also causes significant environmental damage, including deforestation, soil erosion, and water pollution. ITI is committed to helping governments mitigate these adverse effects.”
