On the city side of the terminal, ample parking facilities are provided with 150 car parking spaces and two bus parking spaces. Additionally, a newly developed apron can accommodate three A-321/B-737 types of aircraft along with a new link Taxi Track, further enhancing operational capabilities.
The inauguration event will witness the presence of several esteemed dignitaries, including General Dr VK Singh (Retd), Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Road Transport and Highways, Satish Mahana, Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, and Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi,' Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI and Investment Promotion. Members of Parliament, government officials, and other senior dignitaries will also attend the ceremony.
The improved facilities at Kanpur Airport are expected to enhance connectivity to more cities within Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country. The newly constructed Terminal Building at Kanpur Airport incorporates sustainability features, including a double insulated roofing system, energy-saving canopies, LED lighting, and a rainwater harvesting system. The facility also features a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, and use of recycled water for landscaping.
