
New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) organised widespread 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations across its units in Odisha on Saturday, drawing participation from employees and their families. The events echoed the national theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
A major event at Anand Vihar Grounds, MCL Headquarters, witnessed around 700 participants join a flagship yoga session. The gathering was honoured by the presence of Mukesh Choudhary, Director of Marketing & Business Development, Coal India Limited as a chief guest on the occasion, which was presided over by Uday Anant Kaole, CMD, MCL. Prominent among senior officers joining the session at headquarters were Keshav Rao, Director (HR), MCL and PK Patel, CVO, MCL.
Before joining the special session on yoga practices at the event, the participants attended live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Visakhapatnam.
Beyond headquarters, similar yoga sessions were conducted in all the units of company in Talcher and Ib Valley coalfields, spread over in Angul, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh districts of Odisha.
More than 7800 people, including employees, family members and community volunteers, came together to perform asanas and pranayama at 77 venues all across the company, celebrating IDY 2025 under the shared theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” Besides this, 1430 saplings were also planted under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” on this occasion as a commitment to promoting green.
