MNRE reduces fee for solar PV module ALMM registration by 80%, increases validity

New Delhi: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has reduced the registration fee for ALMM registration by 80 percent and has increased the validity of the empanelment from two years to four years, an official order dated May 10 shows. For solar PV module or cell manufacturers having a total installed production capacity of up to 50 MW per year, the application fee for first model of module or cell has been reduced from Rs 2,500/MW to Rs 500/MW.

Validity of ALMM enlistment increased to 4 yrs

Similarly, for production capacity of more than 50 MW/year, the fee for first model of solar module or cell has been reduced from Rs 5,000/MW to Rs 1,000/MW. Consequently, for applications consisting of multiple models, the application fee (which is 1% for every additional model) has reduced from Rs 25/MW (for capacities up to 50 MW) to Rs 5/MW, and for capacities more than 50 MW/year, it has gone down from Rs 50/MW to Rs 10/MW.

“The enlistment under ALMM shall be valid for a period of four years from the date of the enlistment and can be renewed thereafter following the procedure laid down by the Government,” said the official note. Earlier, the period of validity was two years.

Solar module efficiency

The MNRE has said that only solar PV module manufacturers having a minimum module efficiency in the range of 19 percent to 20 percent (for various categories) will be eligible for enlistment under ALMM. “Such models of Solar PV manufacturers which are already enlisted under ALMM and are having efficiencies less than the aforesaid minimum thresholds, shall be delisted from ALMM list in two years (from date of issuance of this OM) or date of expiry of validity of such model in ALMM, whichever is earlier,” the MNRE has said.
