New Delhi: On the occasion of Rising Rajasthan Investor Meet in New Delhi, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Rajasthan on Monday for the development of 25 GW of Renewable Energy (RE) projects in the state, said a statement.

“The MoU was exchanged between Shri KS Sundaram, Director (Projects), NGEL and Shri Alok, (IAS) ACS (Energy) in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Senior officials from Government of Rajasthan and NGEL were also present on the occasion,” the statement added.

Rajasthan has pledged to put in place 57.71 GW of RE power generation capacity by 2030 at the recently-concluded RE-Invest 2024 in Gandhinagar. Rajasthan has a total of 24 GW of installed solar power capacity and 5 GW of wind power capacity. The state ranks second among all Indian states in terms of installed capacity of renewable energy, with a total of 28 GW.

With 320 clear sunny days in a year and a terrain covered mostly with deserts, Rajasthan has the largest solar power capacity installation in India.
