In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, the company informed that the commercial operation date (CoD) for Unit-1 has been declared with effect from 00:00 hours on March 20.

With this development, NHPC has successfully operationalised three units—Unit-1, Unit-2, and Unit-3—of the 2,000 MW project, which is designed with eight units of 250 MW each. The company stated that the commissioning of the remaining units will be announced in due course.

The Subansiri Lower project, located on the Subansiri River along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, is a strategically significant hydropower initiative aimed at boosting India’s renewable energy capacity and strengthening power supply in the North-Eastern region.
