

New Delhi: Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term technology partnership aimed at strengthening India's indigenous nuclear technology capabilities. The both companies are PSUs and fall under the Department of Atomic Energy.

In a social media post on X, NPCIL said that the collaboration will focus on the joint development of indigenous Control and Instrumentation (C&I) systems, Computer-Based Systems (CBS), Nuclear Instrumentation, Training Simulators, Cyber Security solutions and other advanced technologies for the country's nuclear power programme.

Further, the partnership is intended to accelerate indigenous technology development, provide long-term lifecycle support for operating nuclear reactors and address technology obsolescence. The initiative will also promote standardisation of critical systems while facilitating the timely deployment of reliable and secure technologies for existing as well as upcoming nuclear power projects, the PSU added.
