NRDC partners with SS Medical for nationwide infection control tech rollout

New Delhi: The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) has entered into a strategic technology promotion and business partnership with SS Medical Systems India Pvt Ltd (SSMED) to promote advanced infection control and biomedical waste management technology across healthcare facilities in India.

Under the collaboration, NRDC will promote SS Medical’s microwave-based mobile infection control systems, a technology transferred from the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER), an autonomous R&D institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The technology aims to help healthcare institutions strengthen infection control by reducing hospital-acquired infections, lowering antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and mortality rates, while increasing hospital bed capacity.

The partnership is also expected to support capacity building in government healthcare facilities and strengthen India’s self-reliant public health infrastructure.

The Technology Commercialisation Agreement has been signed on Monday, at the NRDC headquarters in New Delhi by NRDC CMD Commodore Amit Rastogi (Retd) and SS Medical Systems India Pvt Ltd CMD Dr Monish Bhandari in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

Commenting on the partnership, NRDC CMD Amit Rastogi said the corporation’s mandate is to take innovative technologies from laboratories to the market for societal benefit. He added that the collaboration with SS Medical Systems will accelerate the deployment of advanced infection control solutions across healthcare institutions and contribute to building a safer and more resilient healthcare infrastructure in India.
