Mumbai: Benchmark stock indices opened on a negative note on Wednesday. The NSE opened at 18,300.45 while the BSE opened at 61,932.32. On Tuesday, the BSE closed at 61,932.47 while the NSE closed at 18,286.50. At present, both indices are trading lower. NSE is trading at 18,248.10 while the BSE is trading at 61,782.21. The market is highly volatile.
As per the live BSE data, 12 scrips are in the green zone while the other 18 scrips are in the red zone. The live NSE data showcases that there are 23 stocks that are in the green zone while the other 27 stocks are in the red zone. Power Grid, ITC, Coal India, BPCL, and State Bank of India are in the green zone while NTPC, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, and Axis Bank are in the red zone.
On Tuesday, US markets and European markets traded lower. In Asia, Seoul, and Tokyo markets were trading in the green, while Shanghai and Hong Kong quoted lower. Meanwhile, global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.16 percent to USD 75.03 per barrel.
