New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) on Friday announced the commercial operation of an additional 50 MW solar power capacity as part of a larger renewable energy project in Rajasthan.

In a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges on June 12, the company said that the third-part capacity of 50 MW solar power, taking the cumulative commissioned solar capacity to 250 MW out of the planned 300 MW solar component, has been declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hours on June 14.

The solar project forms part of a 200 MW Renewable Energy Round-The-Clock (RTC) project being developed in Rajasthan by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, the joint venture between NTPC Green Energy and ONGC.
